Products and services of the EWOB Association

  • The EWOB Website  - www.ewob.org - with information, photo's and bio's from all European Bands that want to be on it, with links to their own homepages. Also listed will be all national European bluegrass Music Associations with direct links to their websites.        (the www. ewob.org website will be fully operational from May 24th 2001).

  • A Bluegrass E- magazine all about the European Bluegrass scene, with news and views, the European bluegrass agenda, articles on bands and festivals and reviews of new and favourite CD's and video's, information about instruction for the Bluegrass instruments and information about the European Bluegrass instrument luthiers, etc. etc. The Bluegrass E-Magazine is open to all bluegrass musicians and fans. Contributions to the Magazine are welcome from everybody! Just mail them to the webmaster. The Bluegrass E-Magazine will be reviewed and updated every two months, and also as soon as there is important news, free for all to read and download. The use of the English language is preferred for our international audience, but contributions in other European languages are of course permitted..

  • A survey on the history and development of bluegrass in Europe in close co-operation with the national Bluegrass Music Associations, bands and musicians, promoters and journalists. A questionnaire will be ready by mid May and will be available in a number of European languages, such as Czech, English, French, German, Spanish and Russian. The aim is that this work will result in a book, documenting the history and the development of Bluegrass Music in the European Countries and its place in the different cultures.

  • Presenting of the yearly European Bluegrass Pioneer Awards upon nomination by the national Bluegrass Music Associations and the members of the Association, to the true European Bluegrass Pioneers.

  • The organisation of the yearly EWOB festival, like the ones organised by the NBMA since 1998. During the same period around the Bluegrass Month of May, many other activities will be stimulated and widely publicised. The EWOB festival will be open to all European Bluegrass bands.

  • The organisation and the stimulation of the organisation by others of educational Bluegrass music workshops.

  • The promotion of Bluegrass Music on a larger scale with a focus on the European youth. A special policy document will be prepared by the EWOB Association


Other aims for the future include:

  • The presenting of Annual Bluegrass Awards to the European Bluegrass bands, instrumentalists and vocalists to be nominated by the national Bluegrass Music Associations and the Association members.

  • Setting up a European Bluegrass museum and information centre.

  • discount on bluegrass CD's and other Bluegrass related articles.
